On The Mend

Tara and Roo’s new mom, took Roo to our vet this morning for her first shots. They also trimmed her nails and apparently, she was a good girl through it all.

This gave Finn and I about an hour-and-a-half of peace and quiet. We didn’t do anything special. Just enjoyed the sound of our own thoughts.

Both the girls are still sick today. I am far from 100% either, but I did get some work done. With most of us having no appetite, there was no cooking to be done. I did make some chicken noodle soup from a box and I had a few pieces of toast throughout the day with just butter. I know it’s supposed to be dry but I was willing to take my chances.

Most things still do not interest me when I look in the cupboard or fridge. My gut still has that stomach workout feel and I’m drained, but otherwise that one go of vomit was all she wrote. The good news is that it’s Friday, which means a couple of days to recover from this nasty bug.

Abby did go to her mom’s tonight, but Emma stayed back one more night to make sure she was in the clear so their mom doesn’t get sick.

The dogs and I did watch a little New Amsterdam before bed. The post-pandemic plot did get better, although they killed off Dr. Kapoor which sucked. Apparently in real life, his wife is ill so his character was gradually written out of the plot so he could attend to her. I’m glad to read that she survived her cancer treatment.

It’s just not the same without that Iggy/VJ connection. The emotion that Tyler Labine displayed as the show covered VJ’s eventual death was touching. It’s a shame we never got to see the joy of his grandson being born.
