Dude. Where’s My Car?

It was a very late start to the day because we could.

Tara decided she was going to do some major rearranging in the bedroom, including grabbing an old shelf and re-surfacing it to store her makeup stuff in and it turned out nice. The room looks great too. The cleanup included emptying a box of my records and putting it on a bookshelf that she moved into our bedroom.

In the meantime, I was in an out of the garage to cut trim for Abby’s room. By day’s end I had it installed, two dabs of fill in the minor gaps and nail holes. I also did one coat of paint on the shelf, and installed the bookshelf itself to its final destination. I can’t totally install it yet, but it’s loosely attached to the wall so it doesn’t fall. I want to get Abby a new Chromecast to replace her old one, but the wiring will all be hidden behind the shelf in the end.

I did one coat of paint on the wall where the shelf was, and replaced the batteries in the cool lights Abby has around her window that has photo clips on it where she has a couple of Polaroids hanging from it.

The television, it’s external speaker, and Amazon Echo are all set up too, so I’m that much closer.

When I went to pick up Abby later in the day, I forgot that my van was still over at Dave and Lauren’s so I stole Tara’s truck. When I got home, she took me over to get my vehicle. Not that I needed it tonight, but she was back to work tomorrow which either meant I was without a car all day, or I had to walk over to get it. Although I didn’t want to have to go over and scrape my car off on this cold night, I sucked it up. Tara’s vehicle was fun because she doesn’t have a scraper in her car, so I just had to let it warm up to melt the ice. Thankfully it wasn’t too thick.
