The third time’s the charm with the paint for Abby’s room. It’s not perfect but it’s pretty darn close. I was able to get two coats on that wall so it’s ready for the bookshelf to move to that wall.
Abby came back from her friends a little tired. Apparently they didn’t sleep much, and she also hardly slept a wink on their vacation. Something to do with the security system in the B&B freaking her out. They all had a great time on their vacation minus the sleep thing.
With the girls headed back to their mom’s tomorrow for New Year’s, we decided to make it feel like tonight was the 31st in our household. We ordered in Chinese, played some cards while we watched Shrek in the background, but we were not up too late because with all of our girls having New Year’s plans tomorrow, they wanted to rest up for their three different parties they were participating in. Abby with her friends, Emma with her mom, and Hayleigh here.
I can’t believe tomorrow is New Year’s already, which means just one more week of vacation before I go back to work and the girls are off to school. The hope was to complete Abby and Emma’s room during my two weeks off, but Abby’s room turned into a much bigger job than I had anticipated. The plan is to also finally put some door trim on while I am here to totally complete her room. Well, I’ve always wanted to build a ladder for her closet so she can reach the top shelves, but that’s not a priority.
Door trim seems to be what I always leave out. I’m not great at it, but even what I do hack together is better than no trim at all. Just do it, man.
