I received a couple of funny gifts for Christmas yesterday. One – from Emma – was a giant deck of cards. Wait … I am going to get their dimensions … 8×11. So a letter sized piece of paper. I’ll need some floor space for a good ‘ol game of solitaire.
The second belly laugh was over the poster I asked Tara to print off for me for Christmas. You remember the ‘Year in Review’ one I made at the completion of my year-long blogging challenge? The good news is that the print quality was amazing. The bad thing is that it’s gigantic. It’s more billboard size. I’ll need a big wall for this.
My parents were heading out today so they asked me to go check in on Betti White. I decided to just sit and relax, and me and the little cutie sat and watched a couple of episodes of MASH before we went outside, and I headed to my next destination – operation Quinn.
The girls and their mother are up north for a few days so we agreed to babysit Quinn. Problem was, I forgot the key so I had to come all the way home and then head back up there to get her.
It’s nice to have her back again. The cats gave me a look of ‘really’, but I’ve assured them this was just a visit for sure this time.
Before bed, I wanted to spend a little more time with Quinn after our walk, so her, Finn, and I sat on the couch and watched a couple of episodes of New Amsterdam. I haven’t caught new episodes since before the pandemic, and I always liked the creative ways the hospital director solved issues and the cast is really likable.
Although I will likely watch a few more episodes, I shouldn’t have been surprised to see another drama feel like they had to suddenly hit every social issue each episode. All shows cover current issues usually at some point and this drama has been no exception to this rule up until this point, but series like this and Grey’s Anatomy suddenly became too much. Although I still watch reruns of Grey’s to this day, I haven’t been able to get past the first episode post-pandemic season.
Seems like I am not alone in my view of season 3 of NA:

It seems the show didn’t make it past season 5. I’m surprised it made it out of season 3 but perhaps they ran out of social justice issues.
I am going to continue to give it a chance though because things are finally just starting to heat up between Max and Helen after a toxic chemical leak. Both are navigating single parenting together and they have steamy chemistry. Give me a break.
