The Perfect Pattison Christmas

With it being my girls mom’s turn to have them for Christmas day dinner, it was my parent’s turn to host Christmas at their home on Christmas Eve. As you may recall, last year we didn’t plan the holiday’s well, so Tara and I had Christmas dinner separately with both of our families doing their gathering’s on December 25th.

Before we went, I wanted to take Finnegan for a walk to tire him out a bit, and on the way I had an idea to stop by a local shop to buy some gift certificates for our girls stockings.

The owner let me bring Finn in and he welcomed our fur ball with treats. Finnegan wasn’t sure about going into stores as he has only ever been in a pet store, but he was a good boy while we sorted out the cards for the girls.

We arrived at my parents’ house for around one, which gave us lots of time to just sit back and enjoy one another’s company. Fran and Andy also join us each year too so my folks place is always hopping with joy and banter for the holidays.

Dinner was amazing as always, and we were home in time for the kiddos to open one present each, and watch ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas as we always do Christmas Eve. Or, on years where their mom has them on the 24th, we watch the short the last day my girls are with us before Christmas.

I’ve stayed up rather late to do some last minute cleaning to ensure the living room and dining room are ready for present opening and our traditional big breakfast. Every year I do this and every Christmas Day I’m struggling to keep my eyes open, but I just want everything to be perfect – Pattison perfect anyway.
