There is one item I still have to get. I should have known better than to leave this one until the last minute, because now it isn’t available anywhere. I tried the old fashion way first. The store I wanted to try is by Indigo and I like to browse there for ideas each Christmas anyway.
No luck.
After I went to Chapters, I took some time to browse the interwebs to see if there was anywhere locally that I could get this item, but the only place that showed in-person stock was in Toronto. Fvck.
I was curious if the item I was looking for was on any top 10 lists, and it actually turned out that it wasn’t rated very high anyway given the popularity of the brand name. So, I purchased a different model and I’ll hope for the best.
Later on, the girls hadn’t gotten something for their mom yet so we went out to pick up some items at Winners to put together a basket for her. This is what we did last year and it actually gave me an idea this year for two people remaining on my list.
This evening, our friend Catherine joined Tara and I for a wrapping party. They worked in the kitchen, and I took over the living room and by night’s end, we were all done our wrapping.
While I plugged away, I watched White Christmas and It’s a Wonderful Life – both for the first time. I had bought this box set last year, so I thought I would give them a whirl. I especially loved White Christmas. I think I needed to pay more attention to the later movie but I got the overall premise.
Two more sleeps. What a relief to be done shopping and wrapping. That called for a bevie to celebrate.
