Emma forgot her key and she doesn’t bring lunch to school, so I dropped by to give it to her. While I was up there, I decided to head to the local Jiffy Lube for a slightly overdue oil change and checkup. It was an expensive visit with the need for a new filter and I had a fog light out that I had them change while I was there, but I took advantage of a free car wash so there is that.
For dinner, I was inspired to do fajitas for the first time in forever and to make my own sauce as well. Emma had a bunch of friends over again so it seemed like another meal choice that didn’t break the bank to feed a lot of kids.
It turned out really good. Emma and her friends enjoyed it so that’s all that matters. I also had a few Christmas crackers left over from last year – just enough for her group of friends – so they pretended it was their Christmas dinner with crowns on their heads and the snap of the firework strips inside.
The evening was topped off with car rides home while the girls sang at the top of their lungs to Disney songs.
I have this setup in my home office that includes a USB-C switch that allows me to share my monitors, keyboard, and mouse between my work and home computers. It’s been a glitchy setup from the get go. It’s fine when I am using my work computer but when I switch to my personal desktop, the mouse freezes or the displays shut down.
I finally decided to look into it and so far so good. I downloaded the software specific to my keyboard and mouse so here is hoping I am not interrupted every few minutes because it’s really a productivity killer.
