No Holiday Lists

Today was our team holiday lunch at Jack Astor’s. Most of our crew was there, including a colleague from out of town who it’s always nice to catch up with. He’s been in the industry a long time having warn many hats, but these chances to chat are few and far between these days after many years of working in the same office.

For my meal, I had the Samon because Tara doesn’t eat it, so I wanted to take advantage of this opportunity. It was a fun afternoon that ended in a prank, with the prankster chomping at the bit to get a reaction from the punked in our team chat. It’s quite hilarious.

Tara had her Board holiday dinner so she was going to be late, which meant it was the perfect opportunity to get some holiday shopping done.

I started at Eastgate Square to see if I could check a couple of things off of my list – which I did. It’s always nice to be in a mall at Christmas with the music, the kids lined up for Santa, and lot’s of people to fill the halls. Heads up parents. There wasn’t much of a line.

From there, I headed to the pet store to check off shopping for our spoiled critters, and they are now ready for Christmas. Finnegan is funny as he has been staring up and crying at his stocking since we hung it, knowing full well that each year there are presents for him up there. He also watched as I put the cats toys in their stockings, and he followed me upstairs and is now staring at and whining about the bag on my dresser that he knows is for him. Cutie.

While it’s nice to have finally started to shop, I have a long way to go. I probably need at least two more such evenings of browsing to complete my ‘list’. I put it in quotes because so far, there isn’t one and that is one thing I am usually good at through Christmas.
