The Cycle of Holiday Decorations

We had a team meeting in Burlington this morning so I spent the day in the office. I had some technical things to figure out on a computer that I manage at this office, that contains batch files I wrote to backup our files onto another server that is read-only. The documents are referenced by our techs and network operations folks who use them to troubleshoot issues and outages. After a frustrating conversation with IT to try and get this machine online, I left for home defeated.

Today was to be the warmest day of the week, so it was back to the garage to continue the gaps and drafts battle. I was able to get two coats of paint on the other side of the trim, and I put another coat of liquid rubber around the chimney. I also got spray foam happy with a few gaps, but I’d say I need a few more cans to finish off the job. At the end of the day however, all of this is a moot point until I can re-hang the man door and attach the weather stripping, and I also need the proper tool to adjust the main garage door to fix the gap on the one side.

It feels like I am getting nowhere because something is moving around in the garage and until I fix these major gaps, I can scare them away all I want but, they’re just going to keep coming back.

After a walk with Finn, I also got the cover on the air conditioner and barbecue so we are one step closer to home being ready for winter. The Halloween decorations are piled up in the garage now too and ready to bring the bins down to put them away. Just in time to pull the stuff out for the next holiday.

It never ends.
