I had seen a kitchen cart with a butcher block top while shopping last week, but it would have been $500 with tax. It’s certainly not worth that, but it’s been a dream to have something like this in our kitchen as we have very little counter and cupboard space.
I started looking on Marketplace yesterday to see if I could find something similar that was used, and low and behold I found the exact same model for less than a third of the price that was in really good condition.
I had to travel to Brantford – which is about 45 minutes away – to pick it up and the pictures did it justice, so I loaded it up and headed back home. The traffic on the way back was crazy so Waze took me through the backroads which was nice.
I left the cart in my van when I got home because the plan was to surprise Tara but when she got home, she kept questioning where I was so I told her. She wasn’t too excited because one, she hadn’t seen it and two, it meant we would have to put the chest freezer in the living room until we found a place for it. We hardly use that space anyway so I didn’t see it as an issue.
The Ticats were in town and I was offered tickets, but by the time we had dinner I just wanted to plop on the couch and watch it from home.
Our tabbies lost a nail biter on a field goal in the final seconds, but there are so many positives going into the playoffs in a couple of weeks.
As for the freezer? Next up is to look for a stand up which would fit nicely in many more spots.
