Tara’s cold was going to take more rest, so she sent me off with the kids to Port Dover to spend Thanksgiving with her family.
With Tara having no use for her car, I stole the new wheels. On the drive there, I found E Street Radio on her SiriusXM thanks to a free trial with the purchase of her vehicle. I thought the girls would complain more, but somehow I had control of the radio the entire hour-long trip so that was cool. Probably because they realize Springsteen is the true Boss. More likely because they were wearing headsets.
Our nieces were ecstatic when our girls walked through the door. It was the last time we saw them until dinner pretty much, as they ventured into the basement to watch movies and play with Tara and David’s old toys.
Dinner was amazing with all of the fixings, including homemade stuffing with celery and sausages. For dessert, my sister-in-law made her famous Pumpkin Pie so we neither went home hungry, nor without our sweet-tooths being satisfied.
Hayleigh was supposed to stay the night, but she has been getting swamped with homework so decided to come back with us so that she could stay on top of school work.
We brought back leftover dinner for Tara including half a pie which will be enough for us all to have two slices.
What a crappy way for Tara to spend Thanksgiving, and what is usually also a birthday celebration with presents. ‘Tis the season I guess. I think I’m the only one who has avoided a cold so far. Knocks on particle board.
The great thing about having Thanksgiving on a Saturday, is that now we have the rest of the weekend to relax.
I hope everyone is having a nice Thanksgiving.
