The leads on our other RV have been few and far between. It’s been for sale since shortly after we bought our new-to-us RV mid-April. We started high and ever so slowly, the price was brought down – way down. It took a while to come to terms with the fact that we were going to lose large on this trailer, but here we were today waiting for a rare viewing, with the hopes that this might be the one. I had a good feeling, but wishful thinking doesn’t pay the bills.
I brought a tumbler with a flower in it that Emma picked and put on our RV table, to add a little taste of home in an otherwise empty trailer. I also opened up all of the blinds and windows to allow some air to flow through given it’s been mostly locked up for months.
The couple were very nice. RVing was about to be a new venture, and they had plans of caravanning with friends. They didn’t even have a vehicle to tow it with yet but this was all part of the process.
They seemed to like our RV but it was a bit above their budget. They offered a thousand under asking, I said I wouldn’t go lower than half of that, and after some humming and hawing, the husband looked over to his wife who was shaking her head in agreement, and then he reached out to shake my hand.
They signed the deposit receipt I had typed out just in case, gave me a deposit, and hopefully by this time next week, the trailer will have moved to its new home. I’ll be sad to see it go, but there is no doubt that it’s going to a loving, adventurous home.
