I started the afternoon at our trailer site. My aunt and uncle were there for the day as well as Tara, our friend and Hayleigh, as today was the annual tea party and fashion show for the ladies only. Fran made me a nice sandwich, and her, Andy and I had an hour-long visit.
I had plans with my cousin and one of his daughters for a boat ride early evening. The day was getting away from me, and I still wanted to buy some spark plugs for the boat, grease the propeller and tilt shafts, and steering columns. It was 6:30 PM by the time all of this was done, and then I immediately put the boat in the water while I waited for my passengers.
We had a nice evening ride, cruising through the bay before heading through the lift lock into Lake Ontario. The waters were fairly smooth, but the air by this point was cool. There was a beautiful sunset as we were entering back into the bay, so we took our time cruising along the shores as Raya had never been on this body of water before.
It was a very smooth first ride on this lake for our new-to-us boat, but I knew there might be one snag back at the dock. When I was unloading the boat, one of the wobble roller arms popped off.
Luckily, my cousin had some tools in the car so he entered MacGyver mode, and we made it work with half a control arm, the one wheel we recovered, and some pool noodles. There is a slight gash in the hull, where the bracket likely scratched after the wobble arm broke off. It should be an easy fix.
There is never a dull moment on the waters.
