Father’s Day – Take 1

Today, we celebrated Father’s Day at our trailer.

After barbecuing at baseball for some makeup games due to all of this rain we’ve been getting, my two and I headed up for a little daddy-daughter time. Hayleigh and Tara were in Montreal for a concert to ring in the first of the Sweet 16 celebrations, so it was a quiet night by our propane fire. We attempted some cards, which turned into sorting through multiple decks in search for one complete set. Unfortunately by that time, we were tired and called it a night.

We were not up too early, but I had hopes of cutting the hole in the counter top so I could feel like we were one step closer to one working sink in the trailer. Luckily the public washroom is right across the lane from us so it hasn’t been too much of a hassle with no water.

My parents arrived mid-project, but I stayed focused for the first hour of their visit to complete that task before relaxing for the rest of the day with them.

Family friends who we consider aunt and uncle, also came up to celebrate the day (they also have a trailer at our villa now as well), and the weather was perfect – sunny, with a decent breeze so that it wasn’t too hot.

I barbecued since I’ve become a pro at burgs and dogs thanks to baseball, and they were complimented with fresh buns, potato and caesar salad, and pickles. Well, my pickle took a dirt nap but otherwise by the time we were done with cake, fresh strawberries, and whip cream, we were all done – like dinner.

My girls and I briefly thought of staying another night, but what is a Father’s Day morning without the band all together.
