It was the last night without my beautiful wife sandwiched between our 110 lb dog, a cat or two, and me.
I wanted to do a deep clean before Tara got home. First up, animal tumbleweeds. I had recently seen someone with a cordless vacuum hanging from their wall and it had me curious. Ours was old, heavy, and something we all avoided using – especially to clean the stairs. How much were they? Would they be suitable for the tall task of keeping up with 5 adult-sized people and many pets?
I headed off to Canadian Tire before picking up the groceries I needed for taco night, to investigate something I hoped would make life much easier for the Pattison-Mills 5. They actually have a large aisle of vacuums, carpet cleaners, and other similar tools. I was probably there an hour looking at all of the different models, and comparing prices, before spotting one that was 50% off. After reading the box over and taking apart and fiddling around with the floor model, it seemed primed to tackle our job. It was light, could easily finagle around obstacles, and the top came apart to double as a hand-held vacuum. The dust canister was a bit small but this looked like something everyone wouldn’t mind using.
The reviews were pretty good, although there were a few bad ones but I also think you get what you pay for. Some of these were upwards of $600 dollars. They would probably suck the cat right up the house, never mind their hairballs. Sold
I got home, charged the battery, and got to making dinner. Afterwards, I started to vacuum when Abby noticed the purchase and stole it from me. She was gone for an hour.
Smartest purchase I have ever made.
