Victoria

You may have noticed that I have been two – even three – days late on some posts. When I play catch up, you will notice the time of the post reads 11:59 PM.

I was doing good. Every night before bed I would force myself to write a piece, but now I give no urgency into getting a story to screen. On one hand I have to give myself leeway in recognizing that with the warmer weather, comes a more active lifestyle including coaching baseball and the executive duties I hold with the association, and therapy two days a week. Hockey playoffs have also meant enjoying cuddles on the couch with the dogs for an hour or so some nights.

I would like to get back into the nightly routine but with baseball duties at least three nights a week, I’m not going to stress about it. What I at least do everyday is write a few words in the spreadsheet I created to track these posts, to remind me what happened that day for when I have the motivation to write. The goal was 300 words a day and the only calendar date that has zero entry is the one where I slept all day to recover from our vacation and when you crash hard, unless there is a wild dream so vivid you remember it for some time afterward, what’s there to write?.

It’s the Victoria Day long weekend here in Canada – or the May 2-4 weekend – so it was technically a holiday today but I asked whomever could, to come out to practice to better prepare for our first game of the season. It wasn’t a big turnout, but for the most part the kids who really needed the reps were there.

Big first game tomorrow.
