Since Quin went back home to her mom’s with the girls, I thought I would treat Finnegan to a hike at a spot I have been taking my dogs for 30 years.
Finn has been there before, but not enough to be beside himself like our old childhood dog Belle used to get when we turned onto the road where the conservation trail is accessed.
It’s really one of my favorite places in my hometown. It takes about 20 minutes to get there through the city, but to have such a quiet oasis within our city limits is a treasure worth protecting.
I always start off with a relaxing puff, and let my pup lead the way. I have noticed as of late, that someone has been leaving walking sticks at the front gate. I am not sure if it’s volunteers or some wonderful trail frequenter, but I appreciate the gesture.
Finnegan loves to swim. When we go to the cottage we have rented as a family since the summer we met 8 years ago, he dives off the dock non-stop.
Dr. Leotard | Early on in today’s adventure, we met a wonderful lady with who we chatted for at least 15 minutes. Finnegan of course spoke with his cuteness. She has a 15-year-old dog named Sadie who she felt was likely in her final days.
Your loyal friend is in our thoughts.
We met a nice couple having an icy picnic along the water’s edge, an adorable young family of 5, and a group of 3 smiling couples – all of whom Finny was mostly eager to say a curious hello to.
Our handsome feller is passed snoring logs now and I am feeling a little sore, but rejuvenated with a clear head and peaceful soul. Just what Dr. Leotard ordered.
