I Am The Side Door

Let’s go to Niagara Falls for a couple of days.

Quinn is at the girl’s moms. Finn is having a playdate with two other dogs and a few human friends, and it is no longer actually the 29th but meat sweats required a bit of a nap back at the hotel before getting set up at my desk for the next couple of sleeps. To say it’s an uncomfortable setup is an understatement.

Who’s complaining? I’ve got all my girls with me, it’s 12:09 am in a hotel room in Niagara Falls, after a mad dash to the adjacent building in jammies and t-shirts for a little sugar fix, watching Bones, and lots of laughs out loud. Just what the doctor ordered.

By the time I took both dogs for separate walks because Quinn requires two smaller walks, a trip to the dump and dropping a garbage bag full of items to the thrift store, and getting both dogs to their assigned destinations, we didn’t get here and checked in until 5:30, quickly made a dinner reservation, and made the mild Niagara evening walk to devour far too much beef for one person.

We were at the restaurant for a good couple of hours and by the end, it’s all I could do to stand up. Have I mentioned that eating healthy and working out is a goal for 2023? I know everyone says that but I am 54 days – 53 days to 50 so it’s not really a nice-to have at this point. I’ve got graduations and weddings to attend. Perhaps grandchildren and great grandchildren to spoil, worlds to see, and books to write. That ain’t happening gulfing down every possible style of steak over the span of two hours.

12:36. One momma bear down.
