It’s been a procrastinating kind of morning. Twitter. Writing window. Squirrel. Repeat. Then I remembered that I’ve been slacking on my goal to make my way through Julie Powell’s 2002-2003 blog, The Julie/Julia Project.
It’s September 07, 2022. Julie and Eric just moved to Long Island City. While I don’t know that I would follow food blogs necessarily, this was a brilliant challenge that obviously paid off for her in the end with a book deal and a film adaptation of her adventures.
As I have stated previously, Julie really has a way with words so although I get a little lost in the talk of food itself, she provides a giggle within her rythmic vocabulary. Of course, some of those words are french cooking terms and names of foods, however even if you’d rather grab a pizza than go on a daunting search for a shank bone and subsequently try to open it void the requested meat clever, her background in creative writing is engaging.
Squirrel. Orders Julie’s first book.

Fvck I need to get this attention thing sorted out.
When an idea comes to mind about a story, it’s hard to keep my thoughts under 300 but when I draw a blank, I’m left with some 30 tabs open across multiple Chrome account windows.
Why 300?
When I was in a writers groups 16 years ago, my one group would have a monthly Postcard Story challenge. A different member each month chose three words, and we were tasked with incorporating them into a story 250 words or less. My first post on What the Fvck was around 300 so that is why I chose that for this project.
See. Now I am 35 words over my daily goal. 28. 20. 4. 3. 1. 0.
